Guru Gobind Singh Polytechnic striving hard to give a platform to students for implementing their research or innovative ideas for the benefits of Society with the facility of Innovation Lab.

This platform is working as “IPR Cell- Intellectual Property Right Cell”.

Institute take concerted efforts to align its focus with the national goal of achieving technological self-reliance by encouraging interdisciplinary research and institutional collaborative research.

Curriculum based Fibnal Year-Major Projects and research activities of Institute having innovation potential. So,we are in the process of setting up structured processes to identify, facilitate and develop innovation.

Research is believed in the Institute as practice of profession and not career. IPR cell is here to provide relevant, timely and targeted support to inventors in protecting their IPR and to boost confidence in generating IPR.

Objectives

  • To create an awareness about IPR for faculties and students of the Institute.
  • To conduct workshops, seminars and training course on IPR
  • To disseminate knowledge on patents, patent regime in India and abroad and registration aspects
  • To impart training on future endeavors regarding patent filing processes
  • To encourage faculty members and scholars to go for patentable works
     

Types of IPR

Patents

A Patent is a statutory right for an invention granted for a limited period of time to the patentee by the government, in exchange of full disclosure of their invention for excluding others, from making, using, selling, importing the patented product or process for producing that product for those purposes without his consent

Designs

'Design' means only the features of shape, configuration, pattern or ornament or composition of lines or colour or combination thereof applied to any article whether two dimensional or three dimensional or in both forms, by any industrial process or means, whether manual, mechanical or chemical, separate or combined, which in the finished article appeal to and are judged solely by the eye

Trademarks

A trademark is a visual symbol which may be a word signature, name, device, label, numerals or combination of colours used by one undertaking on goods or services or other articles of commerce to distinguish it from other similar goods or services originating from a different undertaking

Copyrights

Copyright is a right given by the law to creators of literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works and producers of cinematograph films and sound recordings. In fact, it is a bundle of rights including, rights of reproduction, communication to the public, adaption and translation of the work. There could be slight variations in the composition of the rights depending on the work
